Jardin de Cluny Hotel in ParisLocation The Jardin de Cluny is located in the Latin Quarter on the Rive Gauche (Left Bank). Nearby cross-streets are Boulevard Saint Germain and Boulevard Saint Michel. To get to the hotel, you can take the RER B3 Express commuter train, which takes about 45 minutes. Taxis are also available, however, they can be very expensive (approx 50 Euros, or $72 USD). Food Jardin de Cluny has a delicious (and very French) breakfast buffet, however, at 14 Euros, it is rather expensive. I loved the yogurt and pain au chocolat (chocolate croissants), but I would recommend walking to a corner store and picking up some yogurt and snacks at a fraction of the cost. I enjoyed the breakfast once just to experience it, but corner cafes are a bit more affordable. One of my favorite things to eat in Paris are crepes from the street vendors. They are delicious, and can be enjoyed either sweet or savory. My favorite was un crepe avec sucre et citron. (A crepe with sugar and lemon - delicious!) When you're in Paris, be sure to check out La Maison du Chocolat. They have the richest, most decadent chocolate chaud (hot chocolate) I have ever tasted. (Think of the hot chocolate from the movie, Chocolat.) Things to Do The Hotel Le Jardin De Cluny is located near Notre Dame Cathedral and is within walking distance to the Musee de Cluny and Sarbonne University. By taking the metro, you can enjoy many of Paris' other sites, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, and more. Cost Hotels in Paris are expensive. La Hotel Jardin De Cluny, a three star hotel, has rooms starting at 169 Euros for a standard single, and go up to 369 Euros for a Junior Suite. I stayed in the Standard Double (199 Euros, or approx $285USD), and was very happy with it. I think the hotel is a 3 Star because the rooms are small, but it has a very nice, boutique feel to it. The staff is very professional and friendly, and they bend over backwards to help out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Paris. The rates are very good, especially compared with other hotels closer to the city center. The location is good, however, to get to any of the main attractions in Paris, you need to take a taxi or the metro. Official Hotel Website |
